MARKET GLOSSARYTERMS THAT MOVE YOUR MONEY
Selic rate
Brazil's basic interest rate, defined by Copom. It serves as a reference for loans, financing and fixed income, such as the Treasury Selic and the CDI.
When the Selic rises, money becomes more expensive and fixed income becomes more attractive, which tends to take resources away from the stock market. When it falls, the opposite happens.
